Platforms: The Governance Systems Beyond the Nation State

The following articles deal with the subject of the world beyond the nation-state. The basic contention is that Internet platforms, powered by virtual currencies, are the economic systems that will move us beyond the nation-state. In previous sections we’ve discussed the trends in Internet businesses (specifically platform business models) and virtual currencies; this section should help us integrate those subjects and think more deeply about them, so that we can understand how such platforms can replace the nation-state as a model for governing planet Earth.
