Correct those mistakes before you publish!

from Deborah Anderson

Writing your book is just the first step in the publication process. Before going to press, you want to make sure your book is as free of spelling, punctuation, grammatical, and syntax errors as possible. Sometimes it takes a “fresh” pair of eyes to see the mistakes you didn’t catch. That’s where an experienced copyeditor and/or proofreader can make a real difference in how professional your final product appears.

I have many years of experience with fiction, especially romance and all sub-genres of romance. My work experience includes freelance editing for a number of ebook publishers, as well as several print publishers. Romance is my specialty, but I also have experience with mainstream, horror, suspense, and family saga.

Mistakes should be corrected, but I believe that an author has the final say on any structural or content problems. I will correct obvious mistakes and make suggestions for improving your manuscript.

Ask any author who has seen a book go to print riddled with errors and he or she will tell you that having a professional look over your work before printing can mean the difference in being taken seriously as a writer.

You’ve poured your imagination and inspiration into your story. Now make sure that the final product is one in which you will take extreme pride. Here’s to your future success!
