from Joseph Fisher
Late in life I discovered fiction, actually, I’ve been a voracious reader of fiction my entire life. What I should have said is that I discovered the enthalling pleasure of writing fiction. Through fiction I can explore ideas, personalities and aspects of life that I as a person have chosen not to live. In an akward kind of way, each of my works of fiction is autobiographical, but only in an inner sense. The people, the facts, the events that make up the fabric of any of my stories is primarily make believe. Oh I borrow heavily from my first hand experience, but I mix and match to distort any real-life person, place or event, my attempt to protect the innocent. What is true, undiluted and sometimes all too raw are the feelings my stories explore. These are taken whole and without deep analysis from the reality I call ‘life’.
