Summary

Ever since Information Technology (IT) has been in existence, Information Security has been aligned under IT and has been labeled as IT Security. This book explains the views of one information security professional who strongly believes that Information Security should not be aligned under the IT name. Information Security needs it's own umbrella and should report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or more effectively to the Board of Directors of all companies. The author describes how some companies have now lost their reputation as well as having to spend millions of dollars to recover from security breaches. These incidents could have been avoided if only management would have invested in resources and manpower to implement an effective Information Security department as well as providing reassurance and confidence to their customers that their personal information is protected and secure from unauthorized access and outside parties.
