Otros se han quedado en su idioma original. Mariana Romo-Carmona is the author of Living At Night, Conversaciones, Speaking Like An Immigrant, and co-editor and translator of a number of anthologies. She was born in Chile, in 1952 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1966. En 1984, obtuvo ciudadanía neoyorquina. She was on the faculty of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Goddard College for 12 years, and teaches literature at the JSM Institute for Labor Studies/CUNY since 2001. In December 2010 I published Speaking Like An Immigrant, and 3 other books in 2011-- Sobrevivir y otros complejos, my English translation of La muchacha de ojos tristes and the memoir collection by Catalan writer, Mercedes Salvador-- Viviendo campo a través, translated into English by myself and Ken Green.
