Quarterlifers
(and other stories)
A fifteen-year-old boy engages in a battle of wills against an enormous rock. A pair of wanna-be cowboys, desperate to prove their Old West cred, accept a wager that has deeply dire consequences. A teen and his grandfather bond in an unorthodox way with surprising results. A junior college dropout delivering pizzas for a living meets the two strangest customers who've ever ordered pizza - but one of them might want something more sinister from him than just a hot meal. And a confused university graduate faces the toughest test of his life: asking out an attractive bank teller even though it seems as if his self-confidence -- and career plans -- were left behind in college. Five stories. All different...yet all somehow connected. And for those of you who don't know how to use a can opener -- you've come to the right place. KYLE FITZGERALD lives in Sherman Oaks, California, with a temperamental laptop computer on which he types out stories that just might manage to be both weird and relate-able (although he believes that weird IS relate-able). When not wrestling with words, he works at an advertising agency, enjoys the Great Outdoors, and looks for things that make him laugh. This is his first book. I graduated from USC in 2008 with a B.A. in Communication, but it took me a couple years to realize that writing for young people is my true passion. I am especially interested in children's chapter books and young adult novels. I'm currently in the process of dropping the word "aspiring" from the phrase "aspiring author!" |
