Being diagnosed with ADHD in my adult life put into perspective why I found things earlier in life to be harder to accomplish than my peers did. I suffered from not being able to pay attention in high school and then especially in my first year of college when I was in large lecture halls. I then thrived when I changed to a smaller school with one-on-one attention and was graded more on projects directly related to my field rather than tests which required studying a book.

Now in my work, I have new sets of challenges. I find it hard to concentrate in meetings, on phone calls and in any classes I take. I have found that doodling actually helps me to focus on what I am listening to, and I take away much more from it.

I've turned my doodles into full-color designs and have placed them on products. A portion of the proceeds from selling these items will be donated to The Edge Foundation, edgefoundation.org, to help others with ADD and ADHD succeed in their lives.
