Being diagnosed with ADHD in my adult life put into perspective why I found things earlier in life to be harder to accomplish than my peers did. I suffered from not being able to pay attention in high school and then especially in my first year of college when I was in large lecture halls. I then thrived when I changed to a smaller school with one-on-one attention and was graded more on projects directly related to my field rather than tests which required studying a book.

Now in my work, I have new sets of challenges. I find it hard to concentrate in meetings, on phone calls and in any classes I take. I have found that doodling actually helps me to focus on what I am listening to, and I take away much more from it.

I've turned my doodles into full-color designs and have placed them on products. A portion of the proceeds from selling these items will be donated to The Edge Foundation, edgefoundation.org, as well as similar causes, to help others with ADD and ADHD succeed in their lives.
