Blue Ridge in Starlight is an 8.5X5.5" collection of 54 vivid, color images with short poems by NC poet Maurice Thomas. The collection reflects his fascination with the unity of near and far--the colors and changing patterns of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the colors and patterns of galaxies and nebulae as seen in NASA's Hubble Telescope photographs, some of which are incorporated into the images of the collection.Thomas is an emeritus professor of Wingate University, Wingate, NC,where he taught English and creative writing for many years. He is married to fellow English professor Pamela Reeves Thomas. Their children are Colin, who died in 2010, and Lauren, a costume designer in Los Angeles. The collection is dedicated to their son Colin who lives on in the memory of time on New River and mountain trails still fierce with life.
