You do not pray to God for money, especially prize money. This is what we were taught by our very Catholic Mother when we were growing up in Brooklyn. Don't even think about praying to Him to win a lottery or you know where you're going to end up. She never really called it a sin but she most definitely hinted that it was.
I did feel at times she was on the verge of saying, "It's a sin, so there."
"That's the rule and that's the way it is," she would say.
Maybe that was the rule but if there was a loophole, I was determined to find it.

My career was in the graphic arts, which i'm still involved. Tried my hand at writing early in life, mostly humor. Here I am these years later finally ready to publish. I love to give my characters a direction and watch where they take the story.
